Although I have been painting since the mid '70's, I have no formal art background and have never taken a drawing or painting class (other than my high school art classes), which is how I started painting. I have not shown or competed with my artwork since the early '80's. In fact, painting is my best kept secret!
My favorite painting subject is the horse. I have owned, bred, trained and shown horses most my life. I was an Equine Veterinary Assistant for over 15 years and from 1986 to 2007, my husband and I owned and operated Silver Quarter Acres, a horse boarding, breeding and training facility in the Golden, Colorado area. We now live in South Park, Colorado. My intimate knowledge of equine anatomy, tack and equipment, has helped me with painting horses more accurately.
Original Matted and Framed Artwork is available for sale, as well as Hand Painted Porcelain Art, Prints and Greeting Cards. A limited amount of Watercolor Commissions are accepted per year. I can work from GOOD photographs of your animals. Custom Porcelain Artwork is also available.
Each Porcelain art piece is 100% hand painted so no two pieces are alike. Kiln fired, china paint is the only "true" permanant paint, making the painted items dishwasher safe, weather resistant and light fast. Single or multiple tile scenes can be created and installed into walls, floors, counter tops or inlaid into furniture such as table tops for a one of a kind look. Tiles are available in round, oval, square and rectangular shapes in a variety of sizes.
Images can also be painted on 3-dimentional pieces such as cups, canisters, plates, jars, boxes, pitchers, etc.
